Old Crows/Young Cardinals

Unfortunately, Alexisonfire’s fourth and final record now represents what the music world will miss. What could have been a glorious stepping stone to bigger things, will now enter the tomes of hardcore history as the final chapter in this bands short-lived career, due to their decision to part ways in 2011. A far more mature and punky sound compared with previous releases, _Old Crows/Young Cardinals_ is full of slick and polished tracks, combining their original post-hardcore elements in songs such as ‘Heading for the Sun’ with a raw in-your-face attitude heard particularly in ‘Sons of Privilege’. The loss of Alexisonfire will be felt and hardcore only hopes that this isn’t really the last we hear from them.
