Nando’s is coming to Leamington

Nando’s, the popular restaurant chain with a cult fan-base, will be opening a new branch in Leamington next summer.

The restaurant is listed online as opening in the Campion Hills area however the site is actually expected to be located in north Leamington.

The company confirmed their plans to open a restaurant when a job vacancy advertising for an assistant manager role appeared online.

George Creasy, first-year MORSE student, said: “I’m really excited for the new Nando’s restaurant to open. I can’t wait because I love chicken!”

Nando’s is a restaurant with a South-African theme, originating from the Portuguese community. The chain was founded in 1987 and now has branches in 30 countries across five continents.

It specialises in chicken dishes with peri-peri marinades, which include medium, hot, extra hot and extra extra hot. Other flavours such as lemon and herb, mango and lime and Mediterranean are also available.

A Nando’s spokesperson said: “It’s true, we’re actively pursuing a site in Leamington Spa, and we hope to open a restaurant there next summer!”
