The Burgh Island EP

**After a top 10 debut album last year, Ben Howard has quietly pushed out his second major release in the form of The Burgh Island EP, a four track showcase of his mellow side.**

This record has a more dreamy sound than his debut album with no sign of the upbeat, driving style from Every Kingdom. The acoustic guitar has been replaced with a thick, effects laden tone that still backs his distinctive vocals perfectly and there is much less input from his backing band this time around.

Track 2, Oats in the Water is a very mellow song with some incredible guitar work that slowly builds to an epic ending and this is followed by To Be Alone, a song that wouldn’t have sounded out of place on the The xx’s debut album. This EP is complete evolution for Ben Howard but one that he has embraced and executed with style.
