Come of Age

The title of The Vaccines highly anticipated second album promises maturation from their unassuming debut. In actuality, only Teenage Icon stands out from an otherwise lifeless collection with its endearingly self-deprecating lyrics juxtaposed against an uplifting indie guitar accompaniment. The remainder of the album is a collage of tuneless vocals and monotonous guitars, falling short of expectation as a mainstream indie album but lacking the charisma to be anything else.
