Warwick Conferences scoops ‘Best Innovation Award’

Warwick Conferences has taken home an award from the annual Conference Centres of Excellence (CCE) awards.

Warwick Conferences’ latest marketing campaign was acknowledged for its originality and creativity by industry experts at the CCE.

The campaign beat off tough competition on the night, receiving the ‘Best Innovation’ award for its humorous and inventive ‘Compare the Conference’ campaign.

The campaign itself included a spoof price comparison website, comparetheconference.com, as well as a mascot in the form of a conference pear named ‘Compear D’conference’. The aim of the campaign was to show event bookers the benefits of booking a complete package courtesy of Warwick Conferences.

The campaign contrasts the hidden costs associated with some conference venues, such as parking, refreshments and overnight accommodation, with the transparency of Warwick Conferences, providing one all-inclusive quote.

The website states: “Comparetheconference.com is designed to show you how a complete package at Warwick Conferences stacks up against the costs of other conference venues.”

“With a team that creates tailored conference packages to suit any customer’s needs, Warwick Conferences includes all the essentials you’d expect at a conference venue as well as the little extras – in one price that we guarantee will beat any like-for-like conference venue quote.”

Rachael Bartlett, Head of Sales and Marketing at Warwick Conferences, said “We’re really pleased with our comparetheconference.com campaign and believe it is a fun way of highlighting the serious issue of hidden costs within the meetings and conference industry.”

“It’s great that people understand the message behind the campaign and we hope that it makes event bookers stop and think when comparing venue prices.”

Tony Rogers, part of the judging panel at the CCE awards, commented: “Warwick Conferences’ entry was original and distinctive and provided a fun and humorous element to what can be a rather tedious task.”

Rogers added that “the campaign’s approach has also paid dividends in terms of meeting the business targets set for it. We had some excellent entries in this category so Warwick Conferences should be delighted to have been named the winner.”
