Platform Location

There’s nothing wrong with thinking big. And London based Brit-rockers Platform Location certainly display some pretensions towards the anthemic end of the musical spectrum on their debut EP, Candlelight. A noble ambition, and one that the band come surprisingly close to pulling off. Weighing in around the softer end of the Brit-rock scale, the three songs on Candlelight call to mind the sultry noodlings of Athlete or Final Straw era Snow Patrol, influences which are unabashedly worn on their sleeves. The band still manages to come down on the side of homage rather than plagiarism however, and with a debut album in the pipeline and a packed gig schedule Platform Location are certainly a band worth keeping a close eye on.
