Renowned cornet player to perform with Warwick Brass Band
International star Richard Marshall will be playing alongside Warwick Brass Band on 6th February.
The band will be performing at the Holy Trinity Church, Coventry.
Marshall has been called, “the most outstanding cornet player that this country has ever had” and is currently principal cornet of the world famous Black Dyke Band.
This is a position that is known as the “hottest seat in banding”.
Warwick Brass Band has commented on how it is a privilege that they have the opportunity to perform with him.
It is hoped that this event will be very beneficial to all members of Warwick Brass Band since Richard Marshall will be doing a workshop prior to the performance.
Dan Sheehan, a member of University of Warwick Brass Band, eagerly anticipates the event, “To have such a Brass Band Celebrity playing with us is great.
“It’s sure to be an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
Rick Dewhirst Lister, Band President, said “The band is delighted and honoured that Richard will be performing with us in concert.
“He is a fantastic soloist whose performances have received world-wide acclaim.”
The concert is to be held at Holy Trinity Church, Coventry. It is due to start at 6pm and tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 for concessions (including students).
Half the ticket proceeds will go towards the churches organ fund and the other half will go toward instruments and helping the society to run.
