Students to stage charity wedding
Will Grave and Cassie Wilson will “tie the knot” in a wedding ceremony on the Piazza this Friday evening.
Will, a Creative Writing student, is championing blind orphans in Ethiopia, having spent this summer teaching them in a school in Azezo, a small town in the north of the country. Run by Italian missionaries, the school depends upon charitable donations to provide for basic needs.
As funds are scarce, Will has been inspired to personally take up this cause. He plans to soon found a charity called The Lighthouse Fund, devoted entirely to it; one he believes will be a “beacon of hope”.
The fund-raising wedding, the first step in that direction, is open to all on campus and will feature, among other attractions, a drunken priest, party poppers, a wedding cake and an after-party at one of the Whitefields residences.
