Costcutter going 24-hour

**It has been announced that the Costcutter on campus will be trialing 24-hour opening times over the coming weeks.**

From Monday 18 February, for a trial period of four weeks, Costcutter will be open for 24 hours a day.

Due to Sunday trading hours, Costcutter will open at 11am and close at 5pm every Sunday, but after opening its doors at 8am on a Monday it will not close again until 11pm on the Saturday.

After campaigning for a higher availability of late night food for students on campus, Students’ Union president Nick Swain told the _Boar_ that he was pleased by this, but insisted that more work was still to be done.

He said: “I think having Costcutter open 24 hours is a great step forward in terms of providing students with food late at night on campus.

“Hopefully the trial will be a success and we will see Costcutter open late during Term 3 too, where I have no doubt it will be widely used.

“There is still a lot of work to be done to improve the general food offering on campus, but this is a good starting point.”
