Student robbed at knife-point near Uni

scarmanroad2A student was robbed at knife point near to the University’s Gibbet Hill site, according to Warwickshire Police.

The incident took place on Scarman Road at 11:30pm on Monday October 22. Three men stole the student’s wallet, containing cash and cards, and a pair of Apple headphones.

Two of the men stood behind him whilst the other man demanded he handed over the cash. It is thought they were carrying at knife.

Welfare Officer Ben Sundell said the Union wants to “assure” students that they and Warwick Security “want to do everything we can to ensure their safety”.

He said: “We would encourage all students to be careful when going out after dark – try to stick to well lit areas and let your friends know where you are going – or even better, try to stay with somebody else.”
