Breakfast club success

The PwC Breakfast Club has proven a hit with Warwick’s sport societies.

The initiative, set up by the Students’ Union Sports Officer Chris Sury and sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers, takes place every Monday morning in Xananas. A free breakfast is hosted for 60 people and any sports teams can apply for up to 25 of their members to attend.

Cereal, juice and bacon baps are served in an informal environment and members from different sports clubs can come together and socialise.

Sury said that the objective of the breakfasts is “for different sports clubs to get to know each other better. I want to make the sports community as a whole stronger.”

Matthew Felstead attended one of the breakfasts with the Judo club. He praised the initiative, saying, “The breakfast club offers a great chance to get to know members of other sports clubs while enjoying a nutritious breakfast.”

Geri Button, President of Women’s Hockey, added: “It’s a really good way to encourage and celebrate the hard work and commitment of the sports clubs.”
