Mixed Hockey help renovate local care centre

The University’s Mixed Hockey club have helped renovate a Leamington care centre.

16 members of the club spent three days on the makeover of the Castel Froma home. They painted the walls, ceiling and did the gloss work.

Rob Pearce, Chief Executive of the centre said “The students helped us redecorate one of our
largest rooms, which was desperately in need of freshening up.

Thanks to the hard work of the students, the cold, blue walls have gone and our residents can now enjoy a bright, warm and welcoming room.

A huge thank you must go to all involved. Without their help we wouldn’t have been able to
complete this mammoth task.”

Mixed Hockey President, Matthew Pattison, said, “We chose Castel Froma out of a number of charities as they are a local project that seemed really keen for us to get involved and who would really benefit from us being there.”

Pattinson added, “Volunteering at Castel Froma really showed us that things like painting do make a huge difference and are greatly appreciated. It was a pleasure to see that our work would help them out, in whatever small way.”

The centre offers treatment for sufferers of brain injuries and neurological conditions.
