Man arrested and bailed in Leicester party stabbing investigation

Police have arrested and bailed a ninth man in relation to a stabbing at a party in Leicester.

The man is the 10th person detained in connection with the incident. He was arrested in the Greater London area on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday 2 March, and released on bail on Friday 4 March.

At 23:38 on 20 January, police were called to a report of a person being stabbed at student accommodation in Nixon Court, Putney Road.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a “critical but stable condition” with a single stab wound, and has since been discharged.

At the time, Detective Inspector Rob Arthur, of Leicester Police’s Complex Investigation team, said: “A significant number of enquiries are continuing today into this incident, which includes the examination of CCTV, and witness accounts being taken.

“While we have spoken to some witnesses, we know that many people who were also at the party – and haven’t as yet spoken to us – could have information about what happened, the events leading to it, or the people responsible.
