Warwick’s dance societies – part 1

Argentine Tango

Warwick Argentine Tango is the perfect society for anyone who is curious to try a new dance or is already a skilled tango-er. Both beginner and improver lessons, as well as drinking/non-drinking socials, help cater for all levels and members. Every member in our society is welcomed to a wholly wonderful family, that will support you with anything on your mind. Personally, starting as a beginner in 2016, this family has made Tango a lovely component of my university experience. See us at the Socs Fair and join our taster sessions to try us out! A short introduction to Tango: “Tango is the Everest of social dance: impossible, demanding, intricate, and therefore irresistible!” (Margaret Putnam)

We hope to see you soon!

Bhangra

Bhangra Society is Warwick’s most social society, running weekly beginners classes for you to meet great new people, fortnightly pre-drinks for clubs like Smack and termly socials to clubs all around the Midlands.

Whether you’ve never danced before or are a professional, Warwick Bhangra is the place for you to listen to great music, meet some amazing people and even learn a few nifty moves.

Make sure you come along to our Meet & Greet in week 1 and join us at our weekly classes from week 2.

Hope to see you there!

EQHO

EQHO was one of the first societies that caught my eye as a fresher and from the get go, I knew that this was the society for me – every single EQHO member was really friendly at my first class and the atmosphere was very relaxing during the dance classes. There is no pressure to be absolutely amazing whether you are there as a complete beginner or advanced. Being part of this society has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and improved my confidence especially performing in front of supportive peers during class and I’ve been able to make many friends because of it. EQHO has hip hop dance classes twice a week along with occasional workshops held by external choreographers and previous EQHO members. There are also opportunities to perform in termly showcases and audition for dance performances organised by other dance societies. As well as dancing, EQHO really knows how to host fun socials such as club nights, Karaoke, Pizza & Movie Nights, throughout the year to become familiar with society members on a more personal level. To any fresher looking for a really welcoming dance society to join as well as a great time socially, this is the society for you.
