Why you should join… Futsal

To continue our “Why you should join” series, Warwick Futsal have their say as to why they should be your first choice club.

Warwick Futsal is one of the fastest-growing and newest sports clubs at the University of Warwick. Last year we had approximately 50 members split into 3 teams. We are fortunate in being able to attract members from a great range of backgrounds and the club takes great pride in its diversity and we have found that this mix of backgrounds and ages has created a friendly and positive environment, contributing significantly to our success on and off the pitch.

“Circles” were hosted weekly before the university’s sports night ‘Pop!’ alongside a host of other events in Leamington Spa

Futsal currently has two teams competing in BUCS competition, along with a third competing in a regional FA league. These teams have been highly successful over the past year, with the 1st team notably winning promotion to the Midlands 1A division and reaching the final of the Midlands Conference Cup. The 2nd team also experienced considerable success in their debut season as a BUCS side in the Midlands 4A division.

To compliment the competitive aspect of the club, Futsal has a thriving social section, with socials held at least weekly in addition to annual domestic and international tours. In the past year, “Circles” were hosted weekly before the university’s sports night ‘Pop!’ alongside a host of other events in Leamington Spa including: a Freshers’ welcome event, as well as bar crawls and joint events held with other societies and clubs. Club tours, both domestic and international, were held during the past academic year with great success.

Joining Warwick Futsal will ensure you instantly have a university family and will transform your experience from day 1 for the better.
