Kasbah owner opens tiki bar in Earlsdon

A Polynesian cocktail bar, called The Tiki Hut, is set to open in Earlsdon tonight.

The bar, whose opening hours will be 6pm to midnight, has taken over the venue once owned by bar and diner The Generator, and will be managed by the owners of Coventry nightclub Kasbah.

The Tiki Hut will offer a variety of classic cocktails and tiki-themed drinks as well as a frozen cocktail menu which will feature options such as Frozen Jerry Colada, a frozen spin on a piña colada, and Big Banana Mama, a rum and banana slushie-style cocktail. Ice cream will also be available.

Speaking to the Boar, a spokesperson stated: “We are aware of the high number of Warwick University students living in Earlsdon and it was one of the reasons for our decision to open our new bar there.”

They also revealed: “We will definitely have a student night but won’t make a decision which day of the week it will be until after Christmas.”

Amarjit Kullar, who owns Kasbah and The Tiki Hut, commented: “We’re very excited to be bringing this new bar to Earlsdon and are looking forward to everyone getting cheeky at The Tiki Hut over the festive period.”

“The team have worked hard to put on a tantalising range of exotic cocktails, we’ve got very creative to try and offer drinks that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. In addition to our wide range of drinks, we will also be selling a selection of ice cream to really make you feel like you are down at the beach.”
