Andrew Thompson elected postgraduate officer

Andrew Thompson, a postgraduate student in the history department, has been elected postgraduate officer for 2014/2015.

The other candidate running was Matt Davies.

Key to Mr Thompson’s manifesto are pledges to have the library open 24/7 throughout the year, and introduce contracts for the pay of postgraduate students who mark.

He also wants to see the SU establish a virtual housing forum to provide postgraduate students with advice about where to live, and what types of accommodation are available.

Lucy Gill is the current postgraduate sabbatical officer, and will remain in office until August when Mr Thompson takes over.

Warwick Students’ Union describes the Postgraduate officer role as: “The Chair of the Postgraduate Association, and the lead officer on postgraduate academic issues.”
