E3 Nintendo Press Conference

The second day of E3’s press conferences is over and included several announcements from both Nintendo and Sony. There were a few news worthy items from which so we’ve been seperated. Here’s what Nintendo had to offer.

#### Main Annoucements

– New Super Mario Bros for the Wii. 4 player co-op and looks rather similar to DS version.

– Cunningly named “Wii Fit Plus”. “Is fun because it’s Nintendo” (?) but looks like an extension of the original game.

– Wii Sports Resort: Table Tennis, Swords, Golf, Kayaking, Archery, Sky Diving. To be released on July 26. As with Wii Fit Plus, looks like a continuation of Wii Sports as opposed to a proper sequel.

– Golden Sun DS, JRPG. New title for series originally seen on the GameBoy Advance, 6 years ago.

– Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is a new RPG coming out for the DS; Mario and Luigi get sucked into Bowser’s stomach.

– Style Savvy. Another Tween game, wasn’t really listening…

– Flipnote Studio. Some sort of drawing application, available only on the DSi.

– Mario Vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (DSiWare). Can create and upload your own mini-games. It looked like a lot of effort was needed.

– New feature: automatically upload photos from DSi to Facebook, coming this Summer.

– The next big thing (after Wii Fit) is… Wii Vitality Centre… What? Some sort of heart rate monitor.

– Super Mario Galaxy 2. The first 3D Mario game to have a sequel on the same console. Although it looks similar to the original Galaxy, it’s meant to have a lot of new, different gaemplay concepts (Yoshi was in the trailer!).

– Metroid: Other M. Collaberation between Tecmo and Nintendo to make a story based game, not just a simple shooter. Appeared to have 3rd person and 1st person elements.
